About us
The Crown Magnolia Court of Georgia (CMCGA) works to educate and advocate for the LGBTQIA+ and its allied community in Georgia. The Court promotes social tolerance through drag performance art. It works to eliminate the historical oppression and homophobia of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queen, inter-sexed and asexual individuals in the South. This is done by creating a safe and welcoming environment through the presentation of events which explore multiple gender expressions in a fun, safe and educational manner.
The CMCGA operates as a curated monarchy system and also raises funds to distribute to charitable organizations within the LGBTQIA+ community of our monarchs’ choosing.
Vision
We envision a Georgia that is more tolerant and accepting of those with differing genders, gender expression and sexual orientation. For us, these differences are not only tolerated but celebrated. We imagine bringing together the LGBTQIA+ community in Georgia so that as a united front, we can lift up and protect our community from homophobia in the South.
Mission
Our mission is to empower LGBTQIA+ individuals to advocate for themselves socially, politically, and personally We aim to collaborate, innovate, and fundraise to help create a community that accepts differences and appreciates diversity.
Community Support
The CMCGA orchestrates itself as a sponsor for the underserved population of the LGBTQIA+ community. Our platform is to accomplish this through drag performance events, mission-driven fundraising and distinctive community programming across Georgia. A portion of all proceeds raised is donated to local charities as designated by its members.
Social Aspect
The Crown Magnolia Court of Georgia is more than just a 501c3 charitable fundraising organization. Notwithstanding that this is our main mission, we are also a vibrant social organization, bringing together gay, straight, lesbian, transgendered, and bisexual individuals.
In many societies, we have found that a healthy organization comes together as a chosen family, and we share not only our philanthropic ideals but also our families, our dreams, our pains, our successes, and our trials. We do this by being involved in each other’s lives when working for our charities in fundraising, as well as when we relax during our various activities!
Partner Organizations
The CMCGA realizes there is power in numbers and impact in unity. As such, each year, we partner with organizations to raise funds and facilitate community events. At the close of each fiscal year, we donate those funds to our chosen charities for that year. Since our very first partnership in 2021, the CMCGA has donated nearly $20,000 to other non-profits who help to support and uplift Georgia communities.
